Controls Technical Project Manager Location:
Saline, MI (metro Detroit) - flexible hybrid (preferred onsite; ~50/50 but not less than ~30% onsite) Open to out-of-market candidates willing to relocate temporarily or travel (per diem/relo can be considered.

12-month W2 contract to hire
PR:
$40-75/hr
Position Summary:
The Controls Project Manager will support data center construction projects, focusing on electrical building management systems (EBMS/BMS) and control system integration. This role will oversee control wiring, system coordination, and integration of building automation, security, and life safety systems across mission-critical facilities.
Responsibilities include:
Manage deployment and coordination of
BMS/EBMS
systems across data center construction projects Oversee control system installation and wiring, ensuring alignment with design specifications Coordinate vendors and subcontractors supporting controls, BMS, and low-voltage systems Ensure integration of building automation, security, and life safety systems (access control, fire alarm, etc.) Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables related to controls scope Identify and mitigate risks related to controls installation, commissioning, and system integration Collaborate with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure system functionality and readiness Support testing, commissioning, and turnover of control systems Required Qualifications /
Skills:
5+ years of experience in controls, BMS/BAS, or building automation project delivery Experience managing or supporting construction or capital projects Strong understanding of control wiring, low-voltage systems, and system integration Experience with security, access control, and fire alarm system integration Experience working with vendors and contractors in a construction environment Experience with
EBMS/BMS
systems in large-scale facilities Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Plusses:
Data center or mission-critical experience Exposure to commissioning and turnover processes
