Facilities & Shop Assistant

Don Dens Sales is seeking a dependable and proactive Facilities & Shop Assistant to keep our grounds, equipment, and operations clean, safe, and organized. This hands-on, full-time role supports multiple departments, from assisting welders and mechanics to maintaining shop equipment, organizing inventory, and handling deliveries. No prior experience required; we provide on-the-job training for candidates with a strong work ethic and ability to follow directions. Primary Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization of indoor shop areas and outside grounds. Assist mechanics, welders, and assemblers by preparing tools, staging materials, and providing hands-on support. Drive company vehicles to deliver or pick up parts. Perform minor facility and equipment maintenance (e.g., lights, machinery checks). Handle garbage, scrap, and general waste disposal. Work with the Inventory Manager to organize and manage shop inventory and supplies. Support trailer and truck assembly tasks as needed. Operate forklifts for loading/unloading, material staging, and shop support. Maintain and inspect company vehicles (basic upkeep, cleanliness). Tackle unexpected daily operational needs with a can-do attitude. Qualifications Strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and ability to think independently while following instructions. Good organizational habits and pride in keeping spaces clean and functional. Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn shop equipment and maintenance tasks. Valid driver's license and ability to operate forklifts (training provided if needed). Physically able to lift 75 lbs and work on feet in varying conditions. Team-oriented, reliable, and eager to support different departments. CDL is a plus but not required. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, Monday through Friday. Hourly pay ($18-$23/hr) based on experience. Benefits may be available.
