Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Grounds Maintain buildings, classrooms, cabins, offices, and common spaces Care for trails, outdoor learning areas, parking areas, and grounds Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations Maintain emergency and safety equipment Respond to urgent maintenance issues and facility emergencies Sustainability & Stewardship Implement environmentally responsible maintenance practices Support energy efficiency, waste reduction, and conservation efforts Operations Support Set up and break down spaces for programs, events, and rentals Collaborate with program staff to meet facility needs Assist with seasonal and weather-related facility planning What We're Looking For Required 3-5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or property management Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building systems Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Valid driver's license Preferred Experience in a nonprofit, environmental center, camp, or educational setting Knowledge of sustainable or green facilities practices Experience working with contractors or supervising volunteers Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons Ability to walk uneven terrain and trails Occasional evening or weekend availability The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities Club site located at Voyageur Environmental Center has over 100 acres of lakeside property including 8 cabins, a commercial kitchen, gardens, beach front, a lodge house, meeting rooms, educational spaces, and event spaces! As a Club site, Voyageur offers after school programing for grades K-12. During the summer months, this facility is a residential summer camp site for both Club kids and rental groups! Voyageur also serves as a stunning wedding venue! Maintaining the property is a full time job and the Club is seeking a Facilities Associate to care for the property and fix issues that arise during on and off seasons. This role will offer overtime, especially during peak summer seasons! Other Club staff will be available to assist as needed, but the primary go-to person for maintenance, repairs and sometimes vendor point-of-contact will be the Facilities Associate.
