This position is vital for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Under the direction of the Vice President-Operations, the Project Manager will manage construction and renovation projects in alignment with the Explore St. Louis mission and goals. Job Duties Implement and maintain an online work order system to execute repair and preventative maintenance functions. Supervise all contracts and services related to construction and renovation projects. Prepare construction bid documents for accepted design concepts and coordinate activities of consultants, suppliers and contractors. Interview contractors to receive and analyze bids to include the blueprint analysis of proposed changes. Perform supervisory duties. Act as a liaison between contractors, architects, engineers and suppliers. Develop and implement a consistent inspection program regarding all work areas for construction and renovation projects. Schedule and implement pre-bid meetings and project review. Coordinate contractor activities with event-specific requirements of the Facility. Collaborate with Trades departments to assist with construction and renovation projects. Assist the Operations Department in developing procedures for control of the operation, maintenance and record-keeping for the Facility's equipment and systems. Plan and prepare budgets for the Operations department to include personnel costs, equipment, supplies, etc. Act as Manager on Duty for Operations for building events as needed. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management. Work a flexible schedule as required to include evenings + weekends and holidays. In this position, you will play an essential role in bridging the gap between managing communication, schedules, and documentation to keep all aspects of projects aligned. By coordinating efforts across teams and proactively addressing challenges, you will help drive the successful completion of construction projects. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a hands-on, proactive approach to managing complex construction projects, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the project lifecycle. You will develop detailed project plans and maintain schedules while addressing delays and changes as needed. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Construction or related field with minimum of 5 years' related experience + training is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and contractors + clients is critical. A commitment to innovation and quality is essential in this role. A proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion is fundamental to ensuring the successful delivery of projects. Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling and coordination. Effective communicator capable of collaborating seamlessly with diverse teams including contractors, engineers, architects, and internal stakeholders. Sharp analytical skills, problem-solving and effective decision-making ability Proficiency with construction processes, contracts and regulations Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; experience with blueprint reading is essential.
