Wednesday-Sunday | 28 Hours Per Week About the Nido & Mariana Qubein Children's Museum The Nido & Mariana Qubein Children's Museum inspires children and families to learn through play, exploration, and discovery. Since opening in Spring 2022 in downtown High Point, the museum has welcomed more than 600,000 guests.

Position Summary The Part-Time Facilities & Exhibits Technician assists with the care, maintenance and daily operation of the museum's building, grounds, and interactive exhibits. This position plays an important role in ensuring that museum spaces are safe, welcoming, functional, and engaging for children, families, and visitors. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, the Technician supports exhibit maintenance, facility upkeep, event setup and breakdown, cleaning operations, inventory monitoring, and general museum appearance. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, hands-on, and enjoys working in a dynamic, family-focused environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesExhibits Maintenance & Care Complete daily exhibit inspections and safety checklists. Perform minor exhibit repairs and adjustments to ensure functionality and safety. Maintain the appearance of exhibits by cleaning, removing scuffs, and applying touch-up paint as needed. Assist with routine deep cleaning and daily sanitization of exhibits and play areas. Restock exhibits materials and play components throughout the day. Assist with the maintenance and operation of specialty exhibits, including the carousel and water tables. Facilities Maintenance & Operations Support the Facilities Manager with miscellaneous maintenance projects and operational tasks. Sweep and maintain outdoor walkways, entrances, and parking areas. Remove trash and recycling throughout the facility as needed. Assist with replacing air and water filters and other routine maintenance tasks. Help respond promptly to spills, accidents, and facility-related cleanup needs. Maintain organized storage, basement, and staff work areas. Assist with deliveries, unloading materials, and transporting supplies throughout the museum. Assist with daily cleaning and facility preparation to ensure the museum is ready for guests each day. (The museum also has a day porter who cleans the museum throughout the day and a cleaning crew at night) Guest & Event Support Assist guests, school groups, and birthday party participants as needed. Support event setup and breakdown for museum programs, field trips, and special events. Help maintain lunch and gathering areas following field trips, birthday parties, and museum events. Move carts, supplies, tables, chairs, and equipment to support visitor activities and programs. Provide friendly, professional interactions with visitors while supporting a positive museum experience. Inventory & Supplies Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, consumables, and maintenance materials. Help ensure bathrooms remain clean, stocked, and guest-ready. Assist with stocking supplies in the café and museum gift shop. Notify supervisors when supplies require replenishment. QualificationsRequired Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing positively to a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and organization. Ability to interact professionally and courteously with staff, volunteers, and museum guests. Comfort working around children and families in a busy public environment. Ability to use hand tools, take measurements, and complete basic maintenance tasks. Flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of facility and operational needs. Preferred Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial services, building operations, exhibit maintenance, construction, landscaping, or a related field. Experience working in museums, educational institutions, recreation facilities, or public venues. Basic knowledge of facility systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights of up to 14 feet. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Schedule & Hours Part-time position working approximately 28 hours per week. Regular schedule:

8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (30-minute unpaid lunch) Sunday:
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays off. Flexibility to work occasional evenings, holidays, and special museum events as needed.
