Grounds/Facilities Assistant

Lake Norman Christian School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-minded Groundsman / Facilities Assistant to help maintain and improve our school campuses. This position supports the Facilities Director in caring for the school's grounds, buildings, athletic areas, and overall campus appearance. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining excellent facilities, and values serving in a Christ-centered school environment. Primary ResponsibilitiesGrounds & Outdoor Maintenance Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas Assist with seasonal grounds care including leaf removal, mulching, planting, and irrigation checks Maintain athletic fields, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor common areas Operate lawn care and maintenance equipment safely and effectively Assist with snow, ice, or storm cleanup as needed Facilities & Building Support Assist the Facilities Director with general maintenance and upkeep of school buildings Support repairs, painting, moving furniture, setup/breakdown for events, and preventative maintenance tasks Help monitor and maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality across all campuses Perform routine inspections and report maintenance concerns or safety issues Assist vendors and contractors when needed General Support Respond to campus maintenance requests in a timely manner Support school events and campus operations as needed Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and safe manner Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to support the school mission Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, facilities maintenance, or related work preferred Ability to operate lawn and maintenance equipment safely Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair helpful Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment/materials up to 50 pounds Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Positive attitude and willingness to serve in a team environment Preferred Characteristics Self-motivated and dependable Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong communication and organizational skills Supportive of the mission and values of Lake Norman Christian School Employment Information Full-time position Competitive compensation based on experience Benefits available according to school policy About Lake Norman Christian School Lake Norman Christian School partners with families to provide a Christ-centered education that develops students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.
