Job Description

Position:
Facilities Maintenance Technician Location:
Balsam Mountain Preserve, Sylva, NC Schedule:
Part-Time | Thursday-Monday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (flexible hours possible)
Compensation:
Based on experience | Benefits after 90 days and 401(k) eligibility after one year if working full time hours. This position may become a Full-Time postion. About the
Role:
Balsam Mountain Preserve is seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for general maintenance and repair work across the property, ensuring all facilities and equipment are operating smoothly to maintain our high standards of service for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs across club facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and kitchen equipment. Support upkeep of HVAC systems, refrigeration, pool pumps, and ice machines (HVAC certification not required). Conduct daily pool testing and cleaning (training provided). Provide basic tennis court maintenance, such as grooming the surface. Remove debris, such as leaf blowing as and when needed. Execute preventive maintenance tasks and respond to submitted work orders. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs. Inspect the property daily and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor. Stack, and deliver firewood to various locations. Drive utility vehicles such as Gators and club golf carts safely around the property.
Qualifications:
Valid U.S. driver's license. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks. Prior general maintenance experience is preferred but not required—training will be provided. This position is ideal for someone who lives locally and enjoys hands-on, independent work.
