Job Description
Air General, a third-generation, family-owned, national cargo handling company, is seeking a Facilities & Fleet Manager. The Facilities & Fleet Manager , in conjunction with the Operations department will be responsible for the maintenance oversight of our office and warehouse facilities and vehicles / fleet, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance. The Manager will also be responsible for the maintenance and have oversight over our GSE equipment and asset management program. It is the responsibility of the Manager to manage building facilities and equipment maintenance, coordinate repairs and renovations and serve as liaison with contractors and vendors. This position will work closely with the Finance Department on developing required facility budgets and subsequently manage within those budgets. This role, although hybrid, will be based out of our Portsmouth, NH home office. Essential Job Functions Fleet Management:
Procuring, leasing, or purchasing vehicles based on fleet requirements. Managing vehicle registration, insurance, and maintenance schedules. Overseeing vehicle inspections, repairs, and replacement programs. Developing and implementing strategies for optimal vehicle utilization and fuel efficiency. Maintaining accurate vehicle records and data systemsFacility Management:
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of company facilities. Developing and implementing facility maintenance programs. Managing contracts with vendors and suppliers for facility-related services. Ensuring facilities meet safety and environmental standards In collaboration with the Operations Dept, assist and support facility start-ups and facility moves. Managing facility budgets and expenditures.Procurement:
Developing procurement strategies for both fleet and facility needs. Managing the procurement process for vehicles, equipment, parts, and facility supplies. Negotiating contracts with vendors and evaluating their performance. Ensuring cost-effective procurement practices and maintaining accurate inventoryOther Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing policies and procedures for fleet and facilities. Analyzing fleet and facility performance data and making recommendations for improvement. Preparing and managing budgets for fleet and facilities operations. Serving as the primary point of contact for all fleet and facility-related matters Capable of working within ERP system on procurementEducation and Experience:
Trade degree/certification and/or bachelor's degree in business or a related field or equivalent required. A minimum of 10 years of related experience in facility management and procurement.Other Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and management skills Excellent communication skills Proficiency in fleet and facilities management software and systems Strong problem-solving skills Proven working experience in facility management and repairs. Understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), maintenance procedures, and safety regulations preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, Google, and other related building software. Strong written, verbal, presentations and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Ability and willingness to be able to travel extensively Knowledge of airport GSE equipment preferred. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain valid airport I.D. badge and CBP seal, if required Must pass all background checks, drug testing, and electronic I-9 verification. Compensation - This is a salary/exempt role. The salary will be based on current market conditions and commensurate with candidate experience.
