The Facilities Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the agency, property management, and the General Services Department (GSD). This position plays a critical role in supporting leadership with strategic space management across 29 office locations throughout the State of New Mexico. Key responsibilities include conducting space audits, coordinating office space assignments, and overseeing space modifications to ensure efficient and effective utilization of facilities. The Facilities Coordinator manages key and badge access, ensuring appropriate security and accessibility for all locations. This position is also responsible for analyzing and planning space utilization needs, supporting agency infrastructure initiatives, and facilitating capital improvement processes. In addition, the Facilities Coordinator reviews new and revised lease agreements to ensure compliance with GSD policies and state requirements. How does it get done? Supports statewide space management, facility repairs/outages, and fleet coordination across 29 field offices Conducts position and space audits; manages key and badge access Coordinates fleet operations including vehicle assignments, utilization tracking, and partner collaboration Maintains accurate databases for space inventory, assignments, and fleet assets Reviews and monitors lease agreements for compliance and coordinates follow up with stakeholders Facilitates planning efforts (short-, mid-, long term) related to facilities, locations, and fleet needs while supporting HR on space related personnel actions Monitors facility and fleet requests, oversees repairs, tracks projects, communicates with stakeholders, and serves as backup trainer for safety and fleet programs Who are the customers? Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
