ABOUT US
Serenity Sands Hospice is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee facility operations, maintenance, purchasing, inventory oversight, vendor coordination, environmental services oversight, and operational readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving problems, managing projects, improving systems, and taking ownership of facility operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable both working independently and leading others while maintaining a safe, organized, efficient, and survey-ready environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Operations & Maintenance Conduct routine facility inspections and environmental rounds Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve facility-related issues Perform basic maintenance and handyman tasks Assemble furniture, equipment, fixtures, and operational supplies Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers Maintain preventive maintenance schedules Ensure facility readiness and operational excellence Assist with facility improvement projects and organizational growth initiatives Supply Management & Inventory Oversight Establish and maintain inventory par levels Manage purchasing and supply ordering activities Monitor inventory utilization and identify cost-saving opportunities Develop and maintain inventory systems and controls Review inventory counts and usage trends Approve replenishment requests and supply purchases Maintain accountability for facility equipment and operational assets Coordinate with the EVS Lead regarding receiving activities, stock shortages, and inventory concerns Environmental Services Oversight Directly supervise the Environmental Services Lead Monitor housekeeping, laundry, sanitation, and environmental services operations Review departmental schedules and staffing plans Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections Support employee coaching, development, and performance management Ensure environmental services operations remain survey-ready and compliant Vendor & Project Management Manage facility improvement projects from planning through completion Obtain vendor quotes and coordinate contractor services Monitor project timelines, budgets, and completion status Ensure vendor accountability and quality of work Coordinate room setups, equipment installation, and operational readiness activities Operational Leadership Serve as the primary resource for facility-related problem solving Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutions Support department leaders with facility-related needs Assist with surveys, inspections, accreditation activities, and special projects Exercise independent judgment in resolving day-to-day operational challenges Anticipate operational needs and proactively implement solutions
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable performing maintenance and handyman tasks Preferred Experience in facilities management, maintenance, operations, construction, hospitality, healthcare support services, property management, or a related field Prior supervisory experience Experience coordinating vendors and contractors Inventory management and purchasing experience Healthcare experience preferred but not required
