Job Description

DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS - SKILLED NURSING FACILITIES
Upstate New York Compensation:
$115,000 - $140,000 + Performance Bonus Essential Healthcare Management is seeking an experienced Director of Admissions to oversee admissions operations for three Skilled Nursing Facilities in Upstate New York, representing approximately 300 beds. This position may be performed remotely or in person for the right candidate. Significant travel is not required; however, candidates must be capable of overseeing admissions operations across multiple facilities and ensuring timely follow-up on all referrals.
Requirements:
Current or previous Skilled Nursing Facility Admissions Director experience required Clinical background required (RN, LPN, Social Work, Therapy, or related healthcare field) Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, insurance verification, and authorization processes Ability to clinically review referrals and coordinate admissions decisions Experience communicating with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, patients, and families Must ensure families are contacted promptly regarding admissions status and acceptance MatrixCare experience preferred (training available if needed) Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage admissions operations across multiple facilities while maintaining accountability and results
Important:
This is not an entry-level position . Applicants without prior Skilled Nursing Facility admissions experience and a clinical background will not be considered. We are seeking a hands-on leader who understands the urgency of admissions, can effectively manage referral pipelines, build hospital relationships, and drive census growth.
Salary:
$115,000-$140,000 annually based on experience, plus bonus opportunities. Please submit your resume along with a summary of your Skilled Nursing admissions experience.
