About The Corning Museum of Glass The Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) was established in 1951 by Corning Glass Works (now Corning Incorporated) as a gift to the nation commemorating the company's 100th anniversary. CMoG is an independent not-for-profit museum dedicated to exploring a single material: glass. Welcoming more than 300,000 annual visitors from around the world, the Museum's campus is home to the world's most comprehensive collection of glass, the world's foremost library on glass, and one of the premier glassworking schools in the world. CMoG was named by the New York Times among the U.S. museums to see for 2025, and Newsweek readers voted CMoG one of the Top 3 Best Art Museums in America. Glass is a versatile, ancient material that is still being explored and understood by artists, scientists, and historians today. Onsite Pay Range:
$24-$27 per hour Do you thrive in a hands-on creative environment? Are you passionate about glassmaking, technical operations, and supporting students and other glassmakers? Join the technical team at The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, where art, innovation, and education come together every day. We're seeking a Studio Facilities Coordinator to help power the daily operations of one of the world's leading glassmaking studios. In this role, you'll work closely with instructors, students, residents, and renters while maintaining studio equipment, supporting programs, and helping create an inspiring and safe environment for our communities. What You'll Do As a member of the technical team, you will: Support Studio Operations Perform maintenance on furnaces, annealers, specialized glassworking equipment and other studio systems Routinely charge furnaces . Ensure workspaces are clean, organized, safe, and fully operational Prepare studio spaces and support rentals, classes, residencies and other programs. Facilitate Studio programs Assist students and instructors, residents, renters and other Studio users. Support different glassmaking activities including furnace work, flameworking, kilnworking and coldworking. Provide technical guidance and outstanding customer support to Studio community. Help Build an Inclusive Creative Community Foster a welcoming, engaging, and educational environment Support programs that expand diversity and accessibility within The Studio Collaborate with and support other Studio team members and groups What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience Hands-on knowledge of glassblowing, flameworking, sandblasting, fusing, and related processes Experience working with glass studio equipment and systems Familiarity with Watlow controller programming and operation Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and iPad/iOS technology Ideal Candidate Traits Highly organized with strong attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, creative environment Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Passion for supporting artists, students, and the broader glass community Flexible schedule availability is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, odors, fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, electrical hazards, and low-level radiation exposure. Noise levels are typically moderate.
