Job Description

Position Overview:
The Facilities Coordinator / Handyman supports the daily operations and maintenance of Tangram Mall, with a strong focus on loading dock coordination, hands-on repairs, and upkeep of mall common areas, including the food court. This role is highly active and requires reliability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work during evening and weekend hours. Key Responsibilities Loading Dock & Back-of-House Operations Oversee daily loading dock activity, including delivery coordination, vendor access, and safety compliance. Support enforcement of trash and recycling procedures and ensure proper waste handling. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe conditions in all BOH corridors, compactor rooms, and service areas. Assist security and operations teams with access control and delivery flow. Front-of-House & Common Areas (Including Food Court) Conduct routine inspections of the food court, restrooms, corridors, lobbies, and other public areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of fixtures. Address and resolve minor repairs in common spaces, such as loose tiles, lighting outages, door adjustments, and furniture maintenance. Monitor and report cleanliness concerns, working with janitorial teams to ensure standards are met. Assist with guest-facing issues including spills, hazards, and urgent maintenance needs. Support seasonal and event-related setups, signage, and operational needs in public areas. Facilities Maintenance & Repairs Perform general handyman tasks including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs. Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance requests from management and tenants. Conduct routine inspections of mechanical spaces and equipment. Support preventive maintenance tasks and assist contractors as required. Operational Support Assist tenants with facility-related issues and coordinate access for vendors or contractors. Identify and report safety hazards or deficiencies throughout the property. Maintain tools, equipment, and supply inventory. Assist with emergency response support during incidents, weather events, or system alerts. Qualifications Previous facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience required. Strong hands-on skills with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and repair work. Experience with mall operations, food court environments, or loading dock management is a plus. Ability to work evenings and weekends as part of regular schedule. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Certifications Preference for candidates with FLSD (Fire and Life Safety Director) or S-95 (Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems) certification. If not certified, candidate must obtain required certification(s) within 60 days of employment (company will support). Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical labor. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders throughout the shift. Must be comfortable working in mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, and high-activity zones like the food court.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
