We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and safety of our grounds, buildings, and equipment. Position Summary The Facilities Assistant supports the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the camp campus. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this hands-on role is essential to ensuring that all facilities, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and well-maintained throughout the year, with increased activity during the summer camp season. Successful candidates are reliable team players who enjoy working outdoors, learning new skills, and contributing to a mission-driven organization that serves children. Facilities Assistants demonstrate professionalism, respect, and care when working around campers, staff, and visitors, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Maintain and clean campgrounds, workspaces, and storage areas Assist with routine maintenance and repairs, including basic carpentry, interior repairs, fencing, and general upkeep Support the set-up and breakdown of camp programs, events, and seasonal operations Assist with grounds maintenance and equipment care as needed Follow safety procedures and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly Qualifications Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, working outdoors, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds Willingness to work in all weather conditions Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, can-do attitude Commitment to safety and willingness to learn new skills Familiarity with hand tools and basic power tools; experience in maintenance, landscaping, or construction is a plus

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
