Job Description

Job Title:
Director of Nursing (Substance Abuse)
Location:
Dayton, OH Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing department in a substance abuse facility. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, implementing nursing policies and procedures, and leading a team of nursing staff. The Director of Nursing will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and maintain effective treatment plans for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Patient Care:
Ensure that all patients receive comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered care. Oversee the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans and interventions.
Staff Development:
Recruit, hire, and train nursing staff, ensuring that they possess the necessary skills and qualifications. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care provided, implementing improvements as needed. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments within the facility.
Budget and Resource Management:
Manage the nursing department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. Oversee inventory and procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred. Current RN license in the state of Ohio. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a mental health setting.
Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and nursing best practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with potential on-call responsibilities. Work may involve exposure to patients experiencing substance abuse crises.

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
