Their mission is to provide quality physical, emotional, social, and spiritual care with dignity and compassion and to meet the needs of the older adults they serve. What will I do as the RN Nurse Manager? As the RN Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the delivery of nursing services on assigned unit of responsibility. Included is the appropriate application of clinical knowledge, administrative oversight, and supervisory accountability to achieve quality resident care outcomes. Supervises performance and behavior of staff holding them accountable for care-giving practices, job performance, customer service, record-keeping, dress code standards, attendance, policy compliance, etc. Collaborates with DON and remains accountable for the operational and cl Provides "on the spot" training, guidance, coaching and counseling as needed to correct and improve staff performance, clinical performance and education of the Nursing Department. Responds to staff questions / concerns and provides instruction and/or education to promote quality care and service. As necessary to correct improper job performance and/or behavior of staff, implements formal corrective action in compliance with established policy. Included may be suspending a staff member and gathering / recording information regarding circumstances that lead to suspension. Within established policy guidelines and with appropriate involvement of facility HR department, Director of Nursing, or Administrator, makes decisions regarding employment terminations and notifies employees in an objective and professional manner. Participates in the interview process and selects or makes recommendations for selection of staff for department or unit of responsibility. Completes assigned performance appraisals in a timely manner and provides appropriate and effective feedback during performance appraisal discussion with staff. Collaborates with immediate supervisor to develop annual operating and capital budgets. Operates within established budgetary guidelines. As assigned, develops and implements corrective action plans to reduce or eliminate budget variances. Works collaboratively with staffing coordinator to meet daily staffing targets. As needed, assists in finding coverage for shift vacancies. Participates in facility committees assigned by supervisor. Assists DON in tracking clinical indicators and recommends process improvement as needed. What do I need for this role? Bachelor's Degree preferred. Licensed RN in the state of Pennsylvania. Minimum one-year supervisory role in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred. CPR Certification required.
