Job Description
Grace Chapel Community Church (GCCC) is a non-denominational church located in Hermitage, PA, serving about 2500 families. This is a Full-Time, 40+ Hours position. The Facilities Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Lead Pastor and the Business Office Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY AND IMPACT
The Facilities Manager cares for the buildings and grounds of Grace Chapel Community Church and Building Blocks Child Care Center, ensuring every space is safe, ready, and welcoming. This role leads daily operations, stewards the facility, and invests in teams. This is ministry. Every prepared space helps people feel at home and ready to encounter God. Through this role, environments are created where ministry can flourish, volunteers are developed, and lives are impacted every day.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Facility Operations & Stewardship Oversee facility cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance Perform and coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections Manage maintenance schedules and facility supply needs Coordinate contractors and service agreements (HVAC, snow removal, etc.) Ensure compliance with safety standards, certifications, and PA state requirements Provide hands-on support and respond promptly to facility needs Grounds & Exterior Care Maintain safe, clean, and well-kept outdoor spaces Coordinate landscaping, lawn care, and seasonal upkeep Oversee snow removal (walkways, entrances, contractor coordination) Coordinate exterior repairs and improvements Safety & Facility Oversight Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds Address minor repairs, safety concerns, and facility needs Monitor equipment, lighting, and safety systems Maintain emergency systems, fire safety, and required certifications Ministry & Event Support Oversee cleaning staff and volunteer teams for room setup and teardown Ensure all environments are clean, safe, and prepared with excellence Communication & Collaboration (Critical Priority) Maintain clear, consistent communication with: o Executive Director, Lead Pastor and Business Office Manger o Church Staff, Child Care Staff, and Volunteers Provide updates on projects, timelines, and facility needs Anticipate and communicate needs for services and events Team Leadership & Discipleship Recruit, train, and lead maintenance staff and volunteer teams Build and lead teams, including: o Snow Removal o Grounds Upkeep o Deep Clean / Building Care Events Create clear pathways for serving and connection Disciple and invest in volunteers, fostering ownership and growth Cultivate a culture of teamwork, encouragement, and excellence Additional Responsibilities Provide emergency on-call support as needed Assist staff and ministry leaders Support special projects and seasonal needsQUALIFICATIONS
Dependable, organized, and self-motivated Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to recruit, lead, and develop teams Basic maintenance/mechanical knowledge Physically able to perform facility-related tasks (lifting, bending, standing)REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of relevant experience preferred Attend weekly staff meetings and Bible study Flexible schedule based on ministry needs (services, events, weddings, funerals, etc.) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects effectively Willingness to comply with church policies and procedures A growing, committed follower of Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)STANDARDS
