Full Job Description Overview:

The Facilities Associate II supports company operations by monitoring, controlling, and maintaining facilities related utilities and equipment that support all aspects of building infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Offers input regarding the layout and design of building and building equipment Aids in the planning and maintenance of the building and of the building's equipment including steam systems, boilers, chillers, electrical systems including UPS and generator systems, HVAC, water systems, motors/engines, associated utilities, and supporting equipment Ensures service providers maintain the building as it relates to the specific service provider, including Custodial, Engineering, Integrated Pest Management and General Building Maintenance Services Identifies and manages vendors and maintenance contractors including electricians, plumbers, HVAC, etc. Plans and schedules maintenance around production activities and operations Organizes and maintains a preventative calibration schedule for utilities that impact the facility Ensures vendors and maintenance contractors that maintain building as it relates to the specific service being provided (i.e. Custodial, Integrated Pest Management, Emergency Services, General Building Maintenance Services) are qualified Acts as liaison between municipalities (i.e. waste, utilities, ordinances); perform, as required, skilled maintenance activities to includes but not limited to construction, welding, soldering and plumbing; responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of mechanical and electric equipment and systems Monitors alert systems to ensure facilities and equipment operates within defined specifications Carries out initiatives and procedures maintained within the Facility Control sector of the Quality System General maintenance duties and other duties as required, associated with cleaning, plumbing, electrical, construction, etc. Follows procedures needed to support Good Manufacturing Practice activities Follows procedures needed to support highly regulated activities, including support in maintaining cleanroom environment below alert limits by participating in and following established cleaning practices. Able to identify and use tools and speak to their appropriate names. Full Time On Site Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' experience in direct facility related experience Complete knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and computerized maintenance systems Complete knowledge and understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and computerized maintenance systems
Physical Requirements:
Maintenance Setting (EQ, FA, Safety, Warehouse, MC): General office, warehouse and laboratory setting with potential (limited) exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants while in BioSafety Level II. Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication. Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required. Ability to work under specific time constraints. Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer for long or extended periods of time. Visual and manual acuity for working with computers and equipment. Ability to spend majority of day standing in warehouse setting for extended periods of time, and at times work within confined areas. Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, reaching, twisting and bending on occasion with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be capable of performing PPE gowning procedures on a frequent basis to enter BioSafety Level II including but not limited to safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt), appropriate shoes, and facial mask (if required) on a regular basis.
