Full Job Description Facilities Manager Position Type:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt (20-25 hours/week)
Compensation:
$23
  • 28/hour, depending on experience and skill level Position Summary The Facilities Manager helps care for the physical space and daily operational needs of the church so that ministry, community life, and worship can happen with ease.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining a clean, functional, and welcoming campus. From landscaping and janitorial care to small repairs and ongoing upkeep, this person plays a key role in ensuring the church's spaces are well cared for and ready to serve the community. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs attention, and follows through to make sure things are maintained with consistency and care. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Grounds Care (Approx. 5 hrs/week minimum)
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, cleanup, and general upkeep
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems
  • Remove debris and trash and maintain overall appearance of the property
  • Perform periodic pressure washing and outdoor maintenance tasks Janitorial & Indoor Care (Approx. 5 hrs/week minimum)
  • Take out trash and maintain waste systems
  • Vacuum, clean floors, and maintain common spaces
  • Clean and restock restrooms
  • Ensure the building remains clean, functional, and welcoming Maintenance & Repairs (hours as needed)
  • Perform basic repairs and upkeep across the campus
  • Change batteries in sinks/toilets, replace water filters, and address small maintenance needs
  • Identify issues early and communicate when work exceeds skill or scope
  • Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors when needed Operational Support (hours as needed)
  • Respond to facility-related needs from staff and ministries
  • Help prepare spaces for events, programs, and Sunday services
  • Support general operational needs as they arise
  • Assist in maintaining systems that support smooth day-to-day functioning Schedule & Work Expectations 20-25 hours per week On-site role (no remote work) Flexible schedule, with some availability during standard weekday hours for coordination Occasional coordination around Sundays or events as needed Team Structure & Support Receives direction from the Senior Pastor and Director of Community Engagement Works in collaboration with Trustees for facility-related priorities Supported by quarterly volunteer work days, ongoing volunteers, and community partners who contribute to property upkeep.
This role is not expected to do everything alone, but to help guide, support, and sustain the overall care of the campus. Qualifications & Traits Required
  • Ability to perform physical, hands-on work both indoors and outdoors
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance, landscaping, or facility care (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Clear and reliable communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and tasks independently
  • Comfort working with volunteers, staff, and community partners Preferred
  • Experience with irrigation systems, landscaping, or facility maintenance
  • Experience in janitorial or custodial work
