Facility Cleaning Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Facility Cleaning Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position performs daily cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the school building and grounds, supports facility events, and helps ensure the physical environment promotes health and safety. This position is mostly an evening position, 3 to 5 days a week. Hours range from 2pm to 8pm but are flexible depending on what works for your schedule. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and mop floors in classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and monitor for cleanliness Empty trash and recycling receptacles and remove waste to designated areas Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, whiteboards, and other surfaces Assist with setup and breakdown for school events, assemblies, and meetings Secure building entrances, turn off lights, and ensure areas are locked after hours Monitor and report any safety, maintenance, or repair needs to supervisor promptly Follow all school policies and health and safety regulations Maintain custodial equipment and supply inventory Support seasonal duties such as summer deep cleaning or floor care projects

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred but not required Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety procedures Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for long periods Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team Must pass background check and meet district employment requirements
