Position Overview We are seeking a strong, hands-on General Manager to lead our daily operations, develop and support our team, and ensure an exceptional experience for both our clients and their pets. This role is ideal for a proven leader who excels at building positive team culture, holding employees accountable, solving problems, and maintaining high operational standards. This is not a desk job. The General Manager is actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the facility, working alongside the team to ensure the safety, care, and well-being of the dogs while overseeing staffing, customer service, facility operations, and business performance. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of daycare, boarding, and grooming services, ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive environment for dogs, clients, and staff Lead, coach, develop, and hold team members accountable while fostering a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing employees Manage staff scheduling, labor budgets, payroll review, and other administrative responsibilities Maintain exceptional standards of pet care, facility cleanliness, safety, and operational compliance Ensure outstanding customer service and build strong relationships with clients and their pets Address employee performance issues, customer concerns, and operational challenges promptly and professionally Communicate effectively with staff, clients, ownership, and vendors regarding pet behavior, operational needs, incidents, and business initiatives Develop and implement procedures, systems, and programs that improve efficiency, consistency, team performance, and client satisfaction Monitor key business metrics and identify opportunities to improve revenue, retention, employee engagement, and overall operational performance Lead by example through active participation in the day-to-day operation of the facility Bring fresh ideas, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement to help shape the future growth and success of

Playful Pack Qualifications:

3+ years of leadership or management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams, build positive workplace culture, hold employees accountable, and drive operational excellence Proven experience coaching, developing, and retaining employees while maintaining high performance standards Experience in a pet care facility (dog daycare, boarding, kennel, grooming, or veterinary environment) is strongly preferred and may qualify candidates for higher compensation based on experience and demonstrated leadership ability Experience with Gingr or other pet care management software is a plus Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to make sound decisions, manage conflict professionally, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment Genuine passion for dogs and commitment to providing exceptional pet care and customer service Knowledge of dog behavior, pet care, veterinary practices, or grooming is a plus Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and assisting with dog handling, cleaning, lifting, and other operational duties as needed Ability to lift 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday

Schedule:

Full-time, 40-hour leadership position. Schedule will vary based on business needs and will be coordinated with the Assistant Manager to ensure consistent leadership coverage and support for the team.
