About us White Oak Baptist Church was founded in 1895 and moved into its current building on Wade Hampton Blvd. in 1962. The classic Southern Baptist architecture and our prime, in-town location are notable assets for the ministry. We have about 100 active members plus 30-40 college students during the school year. We have a pre-school ministry for 80 children with 16 staff. Led by Dr. Lonnie Polson, the church has tripled in size since 2019, by God's grace. About the Role We are seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive individual to serve our church community in a Facilities Coordinator role. This is a part-time position (approximately 15-20 hours per week) ideal for someone who enjoys serving behind the scenes, takes pride in caring for facilities in a ministry environment, and has the competence to keep facilities operations running smoothly. The right person is mature, self-directed, and finds genuine satisfaction in supporting a church and its people. About you Flexible and available — willing to adjust to the rhythm of church life Proactive and observant — you notice what needs to be done before being asked Organized and reliable — details don't fall through the cracks on your watch Comfortable with moderate tech — Google Suite, planning/scheduling software, basic online tools A team player who communicates well with staff, volunteers, and vendors Aligned with our church's values and committed to serving the local body of Christ Active in local church membership, but membership at White Oak Baptist is not required Facilities Responsibilities Ongoing Management Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of all church and CDC facilities Manage part-time, contract custodial staff — scheduling, coordination, and performance Oversee keypad access, physical keys, HVAC/thermostats, and security cameras Monitor and manage the fire alarm system; serve as on-call first responder Manage church signage, bells, and digital sign Maintain a Facilities Projects Spreadsheet and shared Google Drive folder Coordinate with the CDC director and church committees on facilities and event Oversee payment of facilities invoices Weekly Tasks Manage custodial schedules and monitor facilities email File facilities documents in the shared Google Drive Order custodial and other supplies as needed Ensure Sunday PM cleaning of shared bathrooms Empty stairway dehumidifiers and update the building rental audit sheet Communicate gym rental hours and monitor the front Ring doorbell Monthly & Periodic Tasks Monthly fire extinguisher and elevator checks Pest control coordination Coordinate BJU Outreach volunteers Manage dumpster cleanout and gym floor machine Church Committee Interfaces You will be the primary point of contact for the Building & Grounds and Events & Decor committees. Arranging the details of the set up before and cleanup after events is a key and shared responsibility. White Oak does not accept many non-church (outside) activities but the ones we do agree to are important to our community relationships. Interaction also required with the White Oak Cemetery committee as needed. White Oak Staff Interfaces You will be a key point of contact with the director of the White Oak CDC (Preschool) and with the Ministry Administrator to coordinate activities and priorities from week to week. You will report to the Administrative Pastor who is available to answer questions and to provide feedback on duties. Outside Vendor Relationships You will be the primary point of contact for all facilities vendors including HVAC, landscaping, pest control, security, fire alarms, plumbing, roofing, elevator, IT, and others as needed.
