Facilities Manager Ridgedale Baptist Church Chattanooga, TN Job Details Full-time $45,000 - $50,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Sourcing Fiscal management Renovation Equipment repair Driver's License Full Job Description Facilities Manager Ridgedale Baptist Church | Chattanooga, TN | Full-Time About the Role The Facilities Manager leads our church Facilities Team and serves as the primary steward of our campus — overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and safety of our grounds, buildings, vehicles, and equipment. This role is a hands-on leadership position that keeps our facilities running smoothly so that ministry can happen without distraction. The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership Directly supervise the Facilities Team, including the Maintenance Technician, Custodian, and Grounds Technician. Manage scheduling, time and attendance tracking, task assignments, and ongoing performance monitoring. Lead onboarding and training for all facilities staff and foster a culture of safety and excellence. Vendor & Budget Management Source and coordinate with external maintenance and repair vendors — obtaining estimates, scheduling work, tracking costs, and evaluating outcomes. Develop and submit an annual budget request covering projected maintenance, repairs, replacements, and renovation projects. Event & Campus Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for all requests to use church facilities, grounds, or vehicles for events and gatherings. Manage event logistics from approval through setup, execution, and closeout — including room configurations, HVAC settings, access, and security. Coordinate paid security and traffic control staffing as needed for large events. Facility Operations & Maintenance Lead preventative maintenance planning and execution in partnership with the Maintenance Technician to keep all systems, equipment, and structures in reliable working order. Oversee and perform necessary repairs across the campus, including interior and exterior finishes, fixtures, fencing, landscaping, and minor renovations. Ensure grounds maintenance equipment and tools are well maintained and operational. Assist with custodial duties as needed, including cleaning, trash removal, restroom supply management, and general upkeep. Maintain recreational fields and campus grounds to a high standard of appearance and function. Safety & Security Champion a safety-first culture across the campus through proactive risk reduction and risk management practices. Ensure facilities are properly secured and that staff follow consistent open/close procedures for all events and activities. What We're Looking For Proven experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or a related field — church or nonprofit experience is a plus. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a small team. Working knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, and general repairs. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, vendors, and schedules simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, vendors, and ministry teams. Commitment to the mission and values of Ridgedale Baptist Church. Valid driver's license required. Reporting Structure The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). This job description is reviewed every three years and is subject to change based on ministry needs.
