Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care. This pivotal role involves overseeing clinical operations, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, nursing home experience, and a deep understanding of various care settings including home health, hospice care, and acute care. As a leader in our organization, you will foster a positive environment that promotes resident well-being, staff development, and operational excellence. Duties Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care across all departments, including assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care settings Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents in accordance with medical records and documentation review standards Oversee the management of medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to implement resident-specific care strategies that promote health and safety Monitor shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while maintaining regulatory compliance with Medicare and other funding sources Conduct regular audits of medical documentation, review MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and ensure accurate coding for reimbursement purposes Provide leadership in nursing administration by managing budgets, staffing schedules, and training programs to foster professional growth Ensure all nursing practices adhere to medical terminology standards, physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and safety protocols Experience Proven experience in nursing management within assisted living communities or nursing homes with supervising responsibilities Extensive background in home health services or hospice care environments is highly desirable Demonstrated expertise in acute care settings with a focus on resident-centered approaches Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems for documentation management Familiarity with Medicare regulations, care plans development, and documentation review processes Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and oversee nurse management functions In-depth understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and HIPAA compliance standards Prior experience managing nursing staff within regulated healthcare environments is essential Join us as we strive to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that enhances the lives of our residents.
