Position Purpose and Summary:
The Facilities & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the physical operations, safety programs, and vendor relationships across Crossroads Community Center's main warehouse and satellite sites. This position manages facilities service requests, vendor sourcing and estimates, light maintenance tasks, facility supply inventory, and the organization's safety program — including safety audits, corrective action documentation, and chemical control compliance. The role works closely with the Facilities Coordinator and reports directly to the VP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Management Manage the facilities service requests across the main warehouse and satellite sites; prioritize, assign, track, and follow up on all open requests to ensure timely resolution Source vendors, solicit estimates, and coordinate contractors for repairs, maintenance projects, and facility improvements across all sites; perform light maintenance tasks as needed Maintain a preventative maintenance program and conduct regular site inspections to extend asset life, minimize liability, and ensure excellent curb appeal Manage facility supply budget and inventory across all sites; maintain well-organized, properly stocked materials within budget guidelines Manage the facilities budget across all three sites; track spending against approved budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide regular budget reports and variance explanations to leadership Supervise the Facilities Coordinator and direct workers in maintenance, repairs, and scheduled equipment servicing; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes Safety Program Management Lead the organization's safety program across all three sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines and applicable local, state, and federal regulations Manage the organization's safety team, conduct regular safety audits; document findings, develop corrective action plans, and follow up to ensure timely completion and accurate recordkeeping Manage the chemical control program, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), proper storage and labeling, and staff training on hazard communications (HazCom) Coordinate safety training, drills, and emergency preparedness planning in partnership with department managers Serve as the primary point of contact for safety inspections, regulatory visits, and incident reporting and investigation General Maintain accurate records at all times, including maintenance logs, vendor contracts, safety audit reports, and supply inventories Adhere to all dress code and safety equipment requirements Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required Job Requirements /
Experience & Qualifications:
Associate's Degree, Professional Technical Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience 3-5+ years of facilities management experience required; experience in nonprofit, warehouse, or multi-site operations strongly preferred Demonstrated experience managing a safety program, including conducting audits, writing corrective action documentation, and administering a chemical/HazCom program, preferred Experience sourcing vendors, obtaining competitive estimates, and managing contractor relationships Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance; ability to travel between the main warehouse and two satellite sites as needed Other licenses and certifications as required by local, state, or federal law Ability to use general maintenance equipment including, but not limited to, hand tools, ladders, warehouse machinery, landscaping equipment, and required safety equipment safely and without endangering themselves or others Familiarity with OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and HazCom requirements, preferred Strong organizational and documentation skills; ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites Working Conditions The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in a climate-controlled warehouse and some maintenance work in outdoor settings. Regular workdays and workweeks are established with some evening hours, and work on Saturday in case of emergency. Physical Requirements Ability to transport or move up to 50 pounds over variable distances Use of ladders and lifts to access heights of up to 50 feet Ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 90°F and indoors in temperatures below 0°F, with proper clothing and PPE provided Ability to personally perform general maintenance and light repair tasks without endangering themselves, volunteers, or fellow employees Ability to travel between all sites (main warehouse and satellite locations) on a regular basis

All compensation is commensurate with the candidates' experience, specialized skills, and/or certifications.
