Job Description
The Facilities Supervisor will support the reliability, maintenance, and operational readiness of facility infrastructure within our manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with the Facility Manager to strengthen facility reliability, improve preventive maintenance execution, and ensure infrastructure systems operate efficiently to support uninterrupted production operations. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee daily facilities activities, coordinate maintenance work, supervise facilities technicians, and ensure timely resolution of facility-related issues. This role plays a key part in improving maintenance response times, reducing equipment downtime trends, and minimizing facility-related disruptions that could impact production. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and capable of balancing technical troubleshooting with team coordination and contractor management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the facilities maintenance team to ensure efficient operation of building systems and infrastructure.
- Support the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for facility equipment and infrastructure including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and fire protection systems.
- Monitor facility performance and maintenance response times to minimize operational disruptions and improve equipment uptime.
- Assist the Facility Manager in implementing maintenance strategies, infrastructure reliability initiatives, and facility improvement projects.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring facility issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility maintenance, inspections, and repair activities.
- Review and assign facility service requests, prioritize maintenance work orders, and ensure timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies related to facility operations.
- Support facility inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist with the management of facility documentation including maintenance records, inspection logs, and equipment documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Facilities Technicians during troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Assist in planning facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with production, safety, and operations teams to ensure facility services support operational needs.
- Participate in emergency response activities and ensure facility readiness for operational contingencies.
- Employees may be required to remain accessible for calls during weekends or after regular business hours as operational needs require. Experience
- Solid Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, HVAC, Instrumentation and control systems. Preferably.
- Experience in maintenance of electrical substations. Desirable
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial infrastructure, or building systems within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Experience coordinating contractors and managing maintenance schedules in an industrial setting. Education
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field preferred.
- Relevant technical certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education. Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and compressed air systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and facility documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and work order management.
- Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate technical personnel and external vendors.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards including OSHA and NFPA.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across operations, production, and engineering teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to operational issues.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in short-, medium- and long-term projects.
- Proficient in laws and regulations related to building infrastructure.
- Management of projects with contractors, from quotations to implementation.
