Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dietary Manager to lead the nutritional and dietary services within a skilled nursing facility. In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and supervision of all dietary operations, ensuring residents receive nutritious, balanced meals tailored to their individual health needs. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and innovative nutrition solutions. Responsibilities Develop and manage comprehensive care plans focused on residents' nutritional needs, including specialized diets such as tube feeding and diagnostic evaluation requirements. Supervise dietary staff, providing guidance on best practices in assisted living nutrition and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards. Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate meal plans, considering physiology knowledge, health coaching insights, and individual preferences. Oversee the dietary department's budgeting processes, inventory management, and procurement to maintain cost-effective operations. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to nutrition services in skilled nursing environments. Collaborate with healthcare teams to evaluate residents' progress through regular care plan reviews and adjustments based on clinical assessments. Lead training sessions on topics such as dietetics principles, supervising experience development, and proper tube feeding procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of assisted living nutrition practices and the ability to implement tailored care plans effectively. Proven experience in supervising dietary staff and managing dietary departments within healthcare settings. Expertise in patient assessment techniques, including evaluating nutritional status and conducting diagnostic evaluations related to diet. Familiarity with physiology fundamentals relevant to nutrition and disease management. Skilled in managing budgets, inventory control, and resource allocation for dietary services. Excellent leadership abilities combined with effective communication skills to motivate teams and coordinate interdisciplinary efforts. Knowledge of regulations governing healthcare nutrition services and experience in maintaining compliance standards.
