Overview The Manager, Plant Operations & Environment of Care (EOC) leads day-to-day plant operations, maintenance execution, and EOC program management for Meridian Hospital. This role supervises facilities technicians and helps build foundational systems (PM schedules, work order workflows, rounding tools, SOPs, and documentation) to support operational readiness and survey readiness Responsibilities Lead daily plant operations activities including maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, general building systems) Supervise facilities technicians including daily work assignment, coaching, and performance expectations Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders; ensure timely completion and clear communication with department leaders Build and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, logs, and supporting documentation Develop and implement SOPs and standard work for plant operations and maintenance execution Coordinate vendors/contractors for specialized services and repairs; validate scope, ensure site safety, and maintain service documentation Coordinate the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee (agendas, minutes, action tracking, follow-up to closure) Conduct EOC rounds and risk assessments; document findings and drive corrective actions with accountable owners Maintain EOC documentation (rounding logs, risk assessments, utilities checks, safety reports) in a survey-ready format Maintain a survey readiness calendar and required logs; ensure evidence is organized and readily retrievable Participate in mock surveys and tracers; address findings through documented corrective actions Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5-8 years of progressive facilities or plant operations experience, including 3+ years in a lead/supervisor role CHFM, CPE, or equivalent professional certification Experience supporting EOC processes, documentation, rounds, and corrective action tracking Experience supporting CMS and/or accreditation surveys in an acute-care hospital Extensive management experience in facilities operations within healthcare/ hospital settings. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in industrial maintenance practices. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), and schematics interpretation. Proficiency in using CMMS software for maintenance planning and tracking. Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Excellent project management capabilities with a focus on safety standards and regulatory compliance. Technical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics; familiarity with low voltage systems is essential. Fluency in English with excellent communication skills to coordinate across departments and external vendors. Experience leading a maintenance team or technician group in a healthcare environment Experience building PM schedules, work order reporting, and survey-ready documentation from the ground up
