Job Description

Tracy Aviary•Liberty Park Campus & Nature Center at Pia Okwai The Facilities Assistant plays a critical role in meeting Tracy Aviary's mission to inspire curiosity and caring for birds and nature through education and conservation. They are responsible for detail oriented work to maintain the cleanliness of facilities and grounds at Tracy Aviary in Liberty Park, and at The Nature Center at Pia Okwai campus. Responsibilities include deep cleaning, waste removal, restrooms, education spaces, offices, and our grounds. Candidates must possess the ability to stay up-to-date on assigned schedules and projects.

They effectively work independently and as part of a team, working indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
Completing daily, weekly and quarterly Custodial tasks to provide a safe, clean, and tidy appearance of Tracy Aviary's grounds.
Including but not limited to:
sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restrooms, restocking supplies, blowing walks, and cleaning and sanitizing surfaces. Occasionally horticulture and maintenance projects as assigned. Communicating with Assistant Facilities Manager or Facilities Manager when there are any issues surrounding custodial processes or other needs that may arise. Able to follow written and verbal directions Able to work independently and as part of a team Professionalism and problem solving skills in responding to various situations Basic computer and math skills Able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in all weather conditions Custodial experience preferred Experience in maintenance is preferred. A valid US driver's license would be beneficial but not required for this position.
Position Details Status:
Part time, non-exempt
Schedule:
8•12 hr /wk, We are currently seeking applicants to fill shifts on the following days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 6:30AM•10:30AM at our Liberty Park campus. Additional shifts may also be available Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday based on operational needs and applicant availability at both our Liberty Park campus and The Nature Center at Pia Okwai in South Salt Lake. Some schedule flexibility is available on these days.
Compensation:
$15•$16/ hr depending on experience
