The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of church buildings, grounds, and infrastructure. This role ensures a compliant environment that supports the day-to-day needs of the staff, day school, and visitors. Key duties include managing vendors and volunteer teams, supervising the maintenance assistant, and partnering with church leadership to develop and execute the annual maintenance plans and budgets. Pay Rate Part Time (20 hours per week) at$25/Hour ($26,000 per year) Schedule On-site Monday-Friday (core hours: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), with flexibility for one weekday off. Requirements Requires on-site availability for special events, emergencies, and ideally a twice-monthly Tuesday staff meeting (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.). (1) Planning & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage cost-effective vendor contracts (cleaning, security, equipment, landscaping, etc.).
- Develop and oversee facility policies, budgets, and a Church Property Maintenance and Upgrade plan in coordination with church leadership.
- Maintain a proactive Periodic Maintenance Schedule to prevent system failures.
- Manage space planning, office moves, and facility renovations. (2) Maintenance & Operations
- Direct the upkeep and repair of all grounds, buildings, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and room setup/AV needs.
- Enforce environmental, health, and safety standards across all facilities.
- Recruit, train, and manage a volunteer team for both skilled and unskilled facility projects (painting, carpentry, landscaping, etc.). (3) Inspections and Supervision
- Supervise the church maintenance assistant and monitor external cleaning contracts, ensuring necessary supplies are always stocked.
- Coordinate annual building and fire inspections.
- Conduct preliminary walkthroughs to ensure safety compliance prior to official inspections.
Experience:
2+ years in project or facilities management, including budgeting, planning and building systems/regulations.
Technical Skills:
Ability to perform minor repairs and emergency maintenance; proficient in Microsoft Office.
