Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests, work orders, and rental housing concerns. Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, and larger maintenance projects. Support rental housing operations by helping address turnover needs, common-area upkeep, and resident-reported maintenance issues. Watch for leaks, moisture issues, ventilation problems, trip hazards, damaged fixtures, pest-related concerns, and other conditions that may affect resident safety or comfort. Track maintenance work, supplies, inspections, and vendor activity with clear and organized records. Help monitor maintenance expenses and identify recommended repairs, replacements, and facility improvements. Work closely with staff, residents, and service partners to support a positive and responsive environment. Assist with urgent repairs and occasional after-hours facility needs when necessary. Qualifications Experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, property maintenance, affordable housing, or a similar field. Strong handyman skills and the ability to complete a wide range of general repairs safely and effectively. Working knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance practices. Good judgment about when to complete repairs independently and when to bring in licensed or specialized contractors. Strong organization, reliability, and time-management skills. Clear and professional communication with residents, staff, vendors, and partners. Comfort using email and simple computer systems to track maintenance and communicate updates. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, if travel between sites is required. A commitment to supporting the mission of a nonprofit organization serving families.
