Job Description

Facilities Maintenance is responsible for performing routine inspections and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems like plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. They respond to work orders, maintain cleanliness, complete preventive tasks such as lubricating parts, and ensure facilities are safe and in good working order. Duties can also involve groundskeeping, painting, carpentry, and other general repairs. •Access to Mentorship!!!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties Include:
Inspections and repairs: Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues. Fix minor issues like broken locks, damaged walls, and lighting problems. Replace worn-out parts and lubricate machinery.
Preventive maintenance:
Complete regular tasks such as changing filters and light bulbs. Lubricate parts and perform safety checks on equipment.
General facility and groundskeeping:
Perform cleaning activities like dusting, mopping, and trash removal. Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, collecting trash, and general yard upkeep. Assist with setup and breakdown for events.
Installation and setup:
Install appliances, equipment, and shelving. Handle minor construction or carpentry tasks.
Documentation and reporting:
Keep logs of maintenance activities and write shift reports. Report issues to a manager and track repairs.
Safety and compliance:
Ensure all work complies with company safety regulations and building codes. Check the functionality of safety systems like fire alarms and emergency exits. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely.
QUALIFICATIONS
Person should possess the following: o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills o Personable and friendly o Detail oriented o Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills o Proficient with technology (Microsoft Office, Google products and other back-office software) o Ability to work well under pressure balancing multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines o Consistent with follow up and follow through o Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems o Must be highly organized o Adaptable to various personalities/situations EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents and to communicate with agents and other staff members in a courteous and professional manner
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic Mathematical Skills necessary for performing job duties
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define the problem, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion to solve the problem and plan initiatives
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A
background in administration or facility management is helpful
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility to work in a standard office setting using standard office equipment including: Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions Strength to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently subject to interruptions in a moderate noise level office setting
