414-273-5533 ~ www.warmemorialcenter.org The War Memorial Center is seeking to fill a full-time Event Setup and Facilities Assistant position.
Work Schedule:
2nd shift, Tuesday through Saturday, with the ability to work additional days and hours as needed.
Job duties:
Event Setup/Rentals and Other - 50% Performs event setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment according to setup diagram including audio visual setup and testing. Primary contact for events department for event setup questions and at weekly meeting. Provides event support by assisting customers and outside vendors servicing events. Ensures rental policies are followed during events. Performs procedures for opening or closing building. Replenishes restrooms products when necessary. Cleans banquet hall wood edges and reflecting pool bi-weekly and other spaces when necessary. Patrols building and grounds. Accepts building deliveries. Assists tenants when necessary. Replenishes supplies in automated parking equipment. Assists visitors with automated parking equipment and directs overflow parking as needed. Facilities and Grounds - 50% Maintains and repairs building, equipment, and grounds. Conducts daily inspections. Assists vendors and contractors. Ensures adequate temperature level for office and event space. Operates light machinery including ski loader, forklift, and scissors lift.
Qualifications:
Responsible and reliable with strong attention to detail. Related work experience with setup/events (preferred). Related work experience with minor building repairs/aptitude to use tools. Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Ability to clearly communicate procedures and policies in a tactful and courteous manner. Ability to work independently without supervision. Ability to operate a computer and literate in the latest version of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Physical Demands:

Ability to:
lift and carry tables and chairs and perform setup and breakdown in a timely manner; stand, walk, and talk or hear; frequently sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, usually waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
