$16/hour Job Description The forklift driver safely moves pallets of raw materials from trucks into designated lanes within a busy manufacturing plant. This role spends the majority of the time operating a sit-down forklift in a fast-paced, dusty production environment and requires strong attention to detail, safe operating practices, and the ability to maneuver materials into tight spaces. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for the majority of the shift. Unload pallets of raw materials from incoming trucks and transport them to designated lanes. Pick up and move raw materials into tight and confined storage spaces with precision. Support production by ensuring raw materials are staged correctly and in a timely manner. Assist with loading and unloading materials for shipping and receiving as needed. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and working on the plant floor. Maintain awareness of surroundings in a busy manufacturing environment with other equipment and personnel moving nearby. Perform general labor tasks in the production and shipping areas as required. Conduct basic pre-use checks of the forklift and report any mechanical or safety issues. Keep work areas as clean and organized as possible within a dusty environment. Essential Skills Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment. Demonstrated ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy, high-traffic area. Strong attention to detail when picking up, moving, and placing pallets of raw materials. Comfort working in a very dusty production environment. Ability to maneuver forklifts and materials into tight and confined spaces. Safety-oriented mindset with consistent adherence to safety rules and procedures. Reliability and willingness to perform general labor and material handling tasks as needed. Ability to support unloading, loading, shipping, and production operations. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Augustine, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
