Join Our Team The Beasley Group is seeking motivated individuals to join our sawmill team in Hazlehurst as a Stacker Apprentice . This is an excellent opportunity to start a hands-on career in the lumber industry with a company committed to safety, training, and long-term employee growth. Position Overview Stacker Apprentice is responsible for learning the safe and efficient stacking, sorting, and handling of lumber in a fast-paced sawmill environment. This entry-level role provides on-the-job training and a clear path to advancement within mill operations. Key Responsibilities Stack and sort lumber by size, grade, and production requirements Ensure boards are aligned properly and prevent jams in the stacking system Monitor lumber flow from sawmill equipment to maintain efficiency Remove defective or damaged boards to support quality standards Assist with banding, tagging, and preparing finished bundles Maintain a clean and safe work environment (housekeeping duties) Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and follow instructions Preferred:
High school diploma or GED, but no required. Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or labor role Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and stack lumber repeatedly Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and dusty conditions Work Environment Industrial sawmill setting with exposure to moving machinery Required use of PPE:
