Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW
PGI is a privately held company, established in 1996. We are a leading supplier of private label solutions in the automotive industry. Our focus is on designing, manufacturing and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports and specialty filter markets. Our supply chain network now branches across the Pacific and into South America.
POSITION SUMMARY
Operates various motorized and hand-operated equipment (forklift, hand jack, hoist, deep reach, stretch wrapper, etc.) in order to receive, ship, warehouse or transport raw material, in-process goods or finished product to and from work centers in a safe and efficient manner. Loads/unloads in-coming freight/stock from truck/trailers in accordance with established operating requirements; verifies information on receiving documents with material and completes any necessary paperwork. Ensures that all in-bound material is located in correct warehouse location, reporting or correcting inventory errors where items are in wrong location; may use computer terminal or portable scanner to assist in determining warehouse stocking positions; prepares necessary forms to track materials to insure proper movement during production process. Loads/unloads finished product, in-process goods and/or material; reads, interprets and/or prepares various forms such as packing slips, bills of lading, transfer tickets, etc., to track material movement and maintain inventory accuracy. Ensures all orders are filled/shipped correctly and documents shipments on appropriate forms; consolidates finished products, attaching labels, P.O. numbers, address, etc., consistent with customer requirements; locates/transports in-process, finished product, scrap, etc., to appropriate areas. Warehouses/transports in-process or finished goods from work center to work center; locates and pulls material from location and distributes to various work centers/dock locations in a timely manner in support of manufacturing operation; performs piece and weight counts using electronic scales; prepares necessary forms to track materials being moved from and to work centers. May use computer or scanner to assist in determining warehouse stocking positions and to ensure proper storage; verifies accuracy of information and paperwork is complete. Responsible for safe and efficient operation of equipment by performing visual checks and maintaining safety checklist; changes forklift batteries and/or refills LP gas tank as required; stacks/reorganizes material on skid prior to movement/storage. Responsible for general housekeeping duties in work areas. Follows all safety procedures and safe work practices. Promotes team work and may train team members in job operations, paperwork, etc Assist on production lines and fabrication as needed or perform related tasks and duties assigned by supervisors 1st shift M-F 6:45am-3:15pm 3rd shift M-F 10:30pm-7:00am
Communication:
Basic communication skills to receive/relay information and communicate with employees and/or supervisors regarding inventory levels, locations, etc. In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors.
Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:
Perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Learn and comprehend general instructions and make some independent judgment. Read and write to complete required paperwork and access information on the computer. Determine warehouse locations using alpha-numeric coding system.
Visual Requirements:
Visually locate materials in warehouse. Read handheld scanning instruments. Visual capabilities as required by forktruck program to acquire license.
Motor Skills:
Hand eye coordination to operate motorized equipment in close quarters on a regular basis. Regularly stand/sit for long periods of time. Frequently bend, push/pull and reach with hands and arms. Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Environment:
Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, and fumes associated with as powered equipment.
Special Skills:
Safely operate industrial equipment and meet requirements for powered industrial equipment license.
Dependability:
Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required.
