Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Cherry Picker Operator, where your expertise will drive efficiency and safety in our distribution operations. Duties Bilingual English and Spanish Safely operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to retrieve and place inventory at various heights and locations within the warehouse. Execute accurate order picking using pick techniques to ensure correct items are selected for shipment. Load and unload materials efficiently using appropriate equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Manage inventory movement within the warehouse management system (WMS), updating records in real-time to maintain accurate stock levels. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments and preparing outgoing orders for dispatch. Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Support warehouse management in maintaining organized storage areas and adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and materials handling. Requirements Proven experience operating reach trucks, cherry pickers, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment when necessary. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation, heavy lifting, and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements accurately. Prior experience in shipping & receiving, warehouse distribution, or warehouse supervision is highly desirable. Valid certification for forklift or lift truck operation is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified.
