Job Title:
Machine Saw Operator Job Description We are seeking skilled Machine Saw Operators with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role requires proficiency in operating saws and managing inventory control for each work order. Candidates must be adept at utilizing mathematical skills, reading rulers, and interpreting blueprints to ensure materials are cut to meet customer specifications in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition. Ensure the processing area is clean, safe, and orderly. Complete all required information entry accurately. Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing. Safely set up equipment to run material according to setup note specifications. Process setup notes according to work order specifications. Verify that the product meets setup note specifications and record measurements. Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications. Perform equipment preventive maintenance. Enter and delete material identification tags per written instructions. Assist in the packaging of materials per written work instructions and work order. Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition. Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements. Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material. Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality. Complete job responsibilities safely to prevent unsafe situations. Train others as required. Assist in activities related to lean and quality initiatives. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Ability to read and write. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Basic math skills. 2+ years of saw operation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Proficiency in saw operation, inventory control, forklift operation, and blueprint reading. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry. Work Environment The work environment is primarily warehouse and production-based, with shifts that vary between 1st (6am-2pm), 2nd (2pm-10pm), and 3rd (10pm-6am). Employees work with various technologies and equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and saws, in a facility that emphasizes safety and cleanliness. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
