Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse distribution processes, accurate order picking, and proper materials handling. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic supply chain environment while maintaining high standards of operational excellence. Duties Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo equipment, and other heavy machinery to load and unload shipments. Perform order picking using various equipment such as pickers and ensure accuracy in fulfilling customer orders. Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to maintain optimal operation and safety compliance. Assist with warehouse management system data entry related to inventory control, shipping, and receiving activities. Handle materials with care during transportation within the warehouse, ensuring proper stacking and storage. Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying shipments against documentation and preparing items for dispatch. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve overall distribution efficiency. Maintain adherence to OSHA safety standards by following proper procedures during equipment operation and materials handling. Participate in inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels. Support heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or lift trucks to prevent injury and ensure efficiency. Skills Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo's, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs when necessary. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Excellent understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving and order picking. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or management is a plus but not required. This role is essential for maintaining efficient warehouse operations while prioritizing safety and accuracy.
