In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks, to handle materials with precision and safety. Responsibilities Operate forklifts such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to load, unload, move, and position materials safely within the warehouse. Manage warehouse inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels and locations accurately. Perform order picking tasks efficiently using various equipment including pickers and pallet jacks to fulfill customer orders promptly. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance with OSHA standards. Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, preparing pallets for dispatch, and ensuring proper documentation is completed. Support warehouse distribution processes by organizing materials for storage or shipment while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and materials handling. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklift trucks in a warehouse or distribution setting. Mechanical knowledge sufficient for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting issues promptly. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, or weight verification. Previous experience in shipping & receiving or order picking is highly desirable. Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of standing or walking throughout the shift.
