In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and distribution center. Your expertise will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate order picking, and timely shipping and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team focused on precision materials handling and warehouse distribution. Duties Operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Perform order picking tasks with precision using pick techniques to ensure accurate inventory management. Assist in warehouse management system data entry for inventory tracking, order processing, and shipping documentation. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal operation of heavy machinery. Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents. Handle materials safely during heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated areas. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate distribution activities and optimize space utilization. Maintain compliance with OSHA standards by following safety procedures and reporting hazards promptly. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues swiftly to minimize downtime. Assist in general warehouse duties including organizing stock, replenishing supplies, and maintaining a clean work environment. Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar machinery within a warehouse or distribution setting. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling. Prior experience in shipping & receiving procedures including load & unload activities. Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including order picking, heavy lifting techniques, and materials handling best practices. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements. Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and safety compliance. Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous but not mandatory. This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations while prioritizing safety and accuracy.
