ROLE SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is to successfully move materials through the warehouse. Forklift Operators will perform general warehouse duties including; shipping/receiving, picking and packing orders, processing orders (where applicable) in the system, and other warehouse related job tasks as assigned such as putting stock away from Receiving and Packaging locations, shelf replenishment and consolidating overstock pallets
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment and store the products in proper places in warehouse Stock shelves appropriately as per Company stands; all barcodes are facing out and the box that will be used for picking can be completely opened without having to rip the flaps off Maintain pick/overstock locations as required Monitor and maintain accurate inventory by checking product counts on overstock and pick locations to ensure pick locations maintain accurate counts Handling plastic shrink wrap or strapping from product Maintain stock replenishments by ensuring the electronic movement of the product matches the physical movement of the product. Consolidating skids by ensuring same product groups get skidded together and in the area of the pick location with all barcodes facing out Product substitutions by ensuring all master and inner cases are labelled properly with the new part information Packing overstock pallets Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately Weigh products and record weight and other data in product labels Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine pre and post inspections Maintain material handling equipment by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling and other necessary actions, and record all information on log sheet Pick orders as required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe and organized working area by ensuring all pedestrian safety requirements are being followed at all times Ensure all pallets are safely wrapped Provide help to additional personnel as required Perform regular vehicle circle checks and maintenance of all company vehicles such as recordings and truck documentation Shuttle product between buildings when necessary Ensure all vehicle licensing is up to date and all recent safety checks have been completed to ensure all vehicles pass a safety test Maintain forklift batteries and lift trucks ensuring that they are in good working condition at all times by ensuring the proper changing and charging of the all forklift batteries are completed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School or equivalent Valid drivers license
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Valid forklift operator license from a recognized training provider

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Environment:
Work is conducted indoors in a standard manufacturing environment with fluctuating temperatures depending on the season. (100%)
Physical Effort:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Physical strength and stamina required to handle physically demanding movements like pushing, pulling, bending down and lifting of packages. Lifting 60 lb. boxes may be required occasionally. Some sedentary work. Requires standing or walking for a long period of time.
Sensory Attention:
Requires the ability to utilize mathematical skills and the ability to coordinate hand and eyes rapidly and accurately in using equipment. (100%)

Requires wearing steel-toed shoes or boots to prevent injuries. Boshart Industries has deemed this position as safety sensitive.
