Forklift Operator Job Description The forklift operator safely operates sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move, load, and unload products throughout the warehouse, while accurately tracking and updating inventory using computers and basic Microsoft applications. Responsibilities Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trucks and trailers using forklifts and pallet jacks. Handle materials efficiently and safely, ensuring products remain undamaged during movement and storage. Use RF scanners to scan, locate, and verify inventory in the warehouse. Enter and update inventory data using computers and basic Microsoft applications such as Excel and Teams. Support shipping and receiving activities, including staging, verifying, and moving incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse safety guidelines. Lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the shift. Collaborate and communicate effectively with a small team to complete daily warehouse tasks and meet operational goals. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts for daily material handling tasks. Experience using stand-up forklifts as needed for warehouse operations. Strong background in general material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging products. Ability to use RF scanners to track, verify, and manage inventory. Experience working in shipping and receiving functions within a warehouse. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a daily basis. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working in a small warehouse team environment. Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly. Strong attention to detail when handling inventory and updating data. Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent first-shift schedule. Why Work Here? The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Daily work involves operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts, using pallet jacks and RF scanners, and working at a computer to update inventory using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams. The environment is hands-on, active, and safety-focused, with regular lifting of 50 pounds or more and frequent movement around the warehouse. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
