Job Description
Job Summary The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and material-handling equipment to move, stage, store, and transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the plant and warehouse areas. This role supports production operations by ensuring timely delivery of materials, accurate inventory tracking, and proper handling of inbound and outbound shipments. The position requires close collaboration with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational, safety, and food safety objectives. Responsibilities Collaborate with Warehouse, Material Handling, and Production teams to ensure efficient material flow and meet production demands. Receive, unload, load, stage, and transport raw materials and finished goods. Perform accurate inventory transactions, including physical counts, cycle counts, and documentation of damaged or non-conforming products. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support department and plant objectives. Conduct daily pre-use inspections of forklifts and material-handling equipment. Operate forklifts (sit-down and/or stand-up) and pallet jacks (manual and electric) in a safe and responsible manner. Change and maintain forklift batteries or LP tanks and monitor power sources as required. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of materials, equipment, and warehouse areas. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, safety, and efficiency. Interact daily with Quality, Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to meet logistics and production goals. Follow all food safety, GMP, safety, and company policies at all times. Skills Working knowledge of food manufacturing regulations and standards, including USDA, FDA/FSMA, SQF, and OSHA requirements. Understanding of
HACCP/HARPC
principles, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety programs. Knowledge of allergen control, lot traceability, sanitation practices, pest control, and recall procedures. Proven ability to safely operate forklifts (sit-down and stand-up) and pallet jacks. Strong attention to detail with accurate recordkeeping and inventory control skills. Effective interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, workloads, and operational needs. Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory or warehouse management systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Pay:
