Job Description

The Forklift Operator is to operates forklift while loading and unloading material produced at the Colorado Plant in support of the packing lines and warehousing. Provide guidance and training to forklift operators while maintaining quality standards on all loads. High school diploma or GED required. One to three years of forklift operating or related experience. High level of safety and quality awareness. Good problem-solving skills. MSHA knowledge preferred. Computer software experience preferred. Computer skills with Barcom and IFS. Warehouse or industrial experience preferred. Ability to operate equipment and use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multitasking. Excellent attention to quality, detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Ability to work with a high degree of independence. Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment. Ability to lift 10-50 pounds on a repetitive basis. Ability to perform strenuous physical activity including repetitive lifting and bending. Ability to work on and around industrial equipment. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work from elevated platforms. Ability to work in outside conditions during all seasons. Self-motivated and self-directed with reliable attendance. Ability to complete area workplace exams for process areas as directed by the Shift Supervisor. Monitor, adjust and troubleshoot process equipment as directed by the control room. Responsible for inventory and management of stock in the Kanban systems for consumable equipment related items; screens, balls, boots etc., Responsible for autonomous maintenance of process equipment including assisting maintenance with preventative maintenance task. Responsible for timely process sampling and submission of samples to the lab for testing Responsible for general housekeeping of process areas. Assist in railcar movement, staging and management as directed by the supervisor. Assist in troubleshooting packaging equipment. Cross train in the Control Room and Perlite Additional duties as assigned.
