Job Description

Forklift Operator / Material Handler II - 2nd Shift $20-23/hr! Job Description This 2nd shift Forklift Operator / Material Handler II role focuses on safely operating powered industrial trucks, including stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts, to pick, move, and stage customer orders in a warehouse environment. You will handle heavy materials, perform a variety of warehouse and receiving tasks, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility. Responsibilities Operate various powered industrial trucks, including stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and order picker equipment, to pick and move customer orders. Pick customer orders accurately and convey them to the packing station or shipping area. Pull and assemble customer orders according to documentation and work instructions. Check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness before shipment. Perform inventory stock checks and assist with daily cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records. Restock and label vendor products, including tools, caulk, and other warehouse items. Move, store, and replenish materials in designated warehouse locations. Perform receiving duties such as receiving and unloading inbound materials and processing inbound shipments. Stock material in appropriate locations and process customer returns in accordance with procedures. Notify management of damaged shipments and assist with documentation for freight claims. Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, removing trash, and supporting restroom and general office maintenance as needed. Follow all safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Safety Program. Report all accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts to management promptly. Perform heavy lifting of boxes and materials weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift, including moving boxes of tile from one pallet to another. Perform other related warehouse and material handling duties as assigned. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent experience. Certified sit-down forklift operator. 1 or more years of previous distribution or warehouse experience. Minimum of 6 months of previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience. Proven ability to operate stand-up reach trucks safely and efficiently. Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Ability to follow safety procedures and comply with all safety rules. Attention to detail when picking, checking, and processing orders and inventory. Basic understanding of warehouse documentation and inventory processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with material handling in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Familiarity with pallet handling and palletized freight. Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays when required. Strong work ethic and reliability in a fast-paced warehouse setting. The role is based in a warehouse and distribution environment that involves frequent operation of powered industrial trucks such as stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and order picker equipment. Work is physically demanding and includes repetitive heavy lifting of materials up to 70 lbs, particularly boxes of tile moved between pallets. The facility environment includes active shipping, receiving, storage, and staging areas, with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization through regular sweeping, trash removal, and basic facility upkeep. Team members are expected to follow all established safety rules and procedures and to wear appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and material handling setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dickson, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
