This role combines material handling with production line support, including staging materials for stamping presses, assisting with die handling and maintenance, and maintaining accurate inventory and production records. The position requires strong attention to safety, quality, and detail in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Responsibilities Safely operate a sit-down Hilo forklift and overhead crane to unload raw materials, move finished goods, and transport production supplies within the facility. Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and cranes, document findings, and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns. Remove finished goods from production areas and transfer them to designated storage or shipping locations. Use a tape measure to verify product dimensions and ensure materials are staged accurately for stamping presses. Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, inventory levels, and production supplies using warehouse management systems (WMS) or production logs. Check product labels, quantities, and lot numbers against work orders to confirm accuracy before production or shipment. Inspect incoming and in-process materials for damage or defects prior to staging for production. Communicate any discrepancies, quality concerns, or inventory issues to supervisors and support corrective actions. Track material movement throughout the facility using basic computer skills and data entry for inventory and production tracking. Assist with machine operation support, including setting up and changing over equipment as directed. Support die-related work in the stamping department, including assisting with removal, resetting, greasing, modifying, and reassembling die sets as needed for product trials and quality specifications. Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) activities on dies and related equipment and document all work performed in work orders. Perform general labor tasks such as basic hand tool use, quality checks, and cleaning of work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment. Stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and safely lift and move materials up to 50 pounds or more throughout the shift. Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and contribute to a safe workplace culture. Attend required training, including initial off-site training, and apply learned procedures and standards in daily work. Work scheduled shifts with the flexibility to stay for overtime as needed and support Saturday production as required. Essential Skills Proven experience operating a sit-down Hilo forklift in a manufacturing environment. Experience with unloading, staging, and moving raw materials and finished goods within a plant. Experience in a manufacturing environment (not distribution only), with familiarity in production workflows. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure to verify product dimensions.
