JOB SUMMARY
Our company is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Forklift Driver. The prime function of this position is to provide support to the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping, and receiving warehouse products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics, and supporting other warehouse functions between shipments to ensure optimal operation of the business.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operate a forklift or other hand truck. Performs daily cycle counts and analyzes inventory discrepancies. Works with office staff to resolve inbound material discrepancies. Returns unused material from the customer back into the system and storage. Process and ship material transfers to other GM or Ideal Setech sites. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Trained to drive a forklift. Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations. Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace. Wears proper PPE at all times. Basic problem-solving skills. Strong verbal communication. Ability to follow directives faithfully and work without close supervision. Understands urgency and reacts accordingly, without sacrificing safety. Must have a valid driver's license and must be insurable by employer's insurance carrier SKILLS Ability to problem solve Must have basic computer skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral. Prepares and maintains required documentation from day-to-day operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 2+ years' experience operating powered forklifts or training.
