Job Description
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack goods. Attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to safety procedures are critical for this role. This is a 100% ONSITE position in Houston, TX with possibility of some travel to our corporate headquarters in Northbrook, IL or other locations as a company representative.Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and shelves. Move materials to and from storage areas and loading docks. Stack and organize products and materials in WMS designated areas. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any issues. Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including inventory counts, packaging, and leakers. Maintain accurate records of materials moved and inventory levels. Inspect containers for damage, cleanliness, and compliance with export standards. Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks Ensures compliance with safety and international shipping standards Handles shipping documents (packing lists, invoices, bills of lading) Consolidates cargo into containers (known as container stuffing) Assist Warehouse Supervisor with overall management of facility Assist leadership with staffing, coordinating temp workers, and liaising with partner organizationsEducation, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma/GED required Previous warehouse experience 3-5 years Attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of SAP & Excel Bi-Lingual Preferred Comfortable working independently Teamwork, Dependable, and Reliable Knowledge of export shipping documentation and procedures is a strong asset Forklift certification preferred.
