Job Description

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store products and materials. This role ensures accuracy in inventory handling, supports production and shipping needs, and maintains a safe, organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse, production area, or shipping/receiving docks. Stack and organize products and materials in designated storage areas. Inspect forklifts before and after use; report and document any malfunctions, needed repairs, or safety hazards. Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required PPE, and adhere to OSHA standards. Assist with order picking, staging, and preparing shipments. Maintain accurate records of material movement and support inventory control procedures. Collaborate with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to ensure timely workflow. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.
Professional requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Valid forklift certification/license (required or ability to obtain). Minimum 1 year of forklift or material-handling experience preferably in a Corrugated Box facility Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and reliability
Physical Requirements:
Employees working in a plant environment must be able to perform the essential physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift). Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, tools, or products (typically up to 50 lbs; occasionally heavier with assistance). Adequate vision to read gauges, screens, and written instructions. Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, or noisy environments.
